"ALL YOU CAN EAT" by Jason Zane June 2019 There is a party a few houses down. It is full of loud people outdoing each other's loudness. The talk of the town all in one place. I am forced to listen. The babbling banter and jibber-jabber. The boasts and brags. Arguments and giggles. Sobs and Sneers. Enveloped by the hum of meaningless small talk and Top 40 music. There is a famine a few countries down. It is full of people starving and screaming. Begging for a scoop of rice. Collapsing and convulsing. Fighting for water. Scrambling for shelter. Herding families across landmasses. Sobs of exhaustion. Clinging to a rumor of hope. The fat cats fatten themselves more. Every morsel devoured. Make way for more litters. An army of hungry consumers is expanding its territory. Their famine consists of a Twinkie shortage at Wal Mart. No dessert today, so triple your dinner portions. Consume consume consume. All you can eat. All you can make. All you can buy. All you can take. Flush the waste and make more babies. Teach them to walk. Teach them to talk. Teach them to consume. Teach them to stalk. Seek out new territory for expansion and reproduction. Deplete all surrounding resources. Teach them to manipulate the planet. Teach them to manipulate people. Teach them how to use electronic devices to replace their culture. Teach them how to party. There is a party in my head. Nobody is invited. There is not enough resources here for you parasites. I have been stripped to the core. It is time for maintenance and reconstruction. That is my party. Repair and relax. No room for intruders. This is a solo mission. Refueling my jets to burst through your society. Like a bullet through a bottle.
