HELLO YOU I wonder who you are why you come here to share your soul and spill your thoughts into all these little boxes. We are both so alike yet with disparate lives miles apart only internet connected through cabled wires. I read your bio what you choose to tell me and make up the rest fill in the blanks pretend we're old friends. Where are you in this world? I want to imagine your view see what only you can see when you write your words on your laptop or phone. Won't you invite me there? take me by the hand and show me all that means so much to you let me understand the why of your mind and share some precious time. One lifetime seems not enough to put these words into all their many convoluted combinations to make sense of the turmoil in our heads and make peace with one another. We should meet up and say hello you so nice to meet you and have a nice day it's been fun I love you. Maybe then in this time and space this world would be in better shape if we all just hugged and said hello and understood each other's woes all hatred laid to waste. Anyways I've rambled on you must think I'm daft my head all wrong it's just reaching out that's all.

thanks very much for commenting on 'Bait' Colin - glad you liked it - I'm hopeless at visiting WOL site at the moment - so only get to see comments when I come back to post something new - so sincere apologies for delay in responding - I really must make more of an effort to visit and contribute

Chaps the Conservatives are in disarray: Labour has increased its membership by another 150,000 in the last week. Corbyn's position is strengthened and another election more than likely. The Tories need to be kept under pressure. Viva! Tommy

Colin, Thank you as always for commenting on my poem Two Voices. I share your sense of despair. I am seventy years of age and have seen a succession of Conservative and Labour Governments, one after the oher with little semblance of difference and no real social progress being achieved. Two voices was an attempt to portray what the Government would have us believe yet is not properly connected to reality. What ails the nation are governments which have been inept, driven by out dated ideologies or those in pursuit of their own wealth. The people are misled by both media and politicians. A two party system is defunct and can hardly be described as truly democratic. Why should I only have a choice between two sets of half wits? Radical reform is called for and the voice of an educated electorate needs to be listened to. Thank you as always. Keith

Hi!

Thank you for your comment on butterflies, I am glad you enjoyed. Also, I am taking your suggestions into consideration - both are great and would give the ending a little more.

Hello Colin, thank-you for your comment. Yes it's not my usual style which emerges onto the paper. I think I just wanted to get my thoughts in order before the inquest which was imminent. Not a happy subject ! Thanks again.

Colin Ear-splitting was nudged from joyous haiku to this more interesting poem (for me at any rate) after reading Fun in a Fiat 500, which made a big impact on me. Not sure if this is inspiration or plagiarism - forgive me if the latter.

Thanks for the comments on 'The Mayfly Dance' Colin - yeah I know what you mean - but it's such a good title and fits the theme so perfectly that it has to stay I'm afraid :-) it's pretty much a true story - so adding a shooting star might be a bit OTT to the narrative - but glad you had that experience

hi Colin. Thanks for your comments on "Shut Thi Clack" . When I introduced the Slugshaws it was meant as a one-off, but the comments I received seemed to suggest a franchise. I've got more planned for them now.

Hi Colin .. thanks for the comment .. had to think about your question .. I'm not sure but although born in Lytham I was brought up in Crewe .. it really annoys my wife if I lapse into that. I wrote it very quickly and as it's a 'goodbye' it makes it more personal between me and him, plus I'd already written an 'in memoriam', that's how it came out really ....
