HELLO YOU I wonder who you are why you come here to share your soul and spill your thoughts into all these little boxes. We are both so alike yet with disparate lives miles apart only internet connected through cabled wires. I read your bio what you choose to tell me and make up the rest fill in the blanks pretend we're old friends. Where are you in this world? I want to imagine your view see what only you can see when you write your words on your laptop or phone. Won't you invite me there? take me by the hand and show me all that means so much to you let me understand the why of your mind and share some precious time. One lifetime seems not enough to put these words into all their many convoluted combinations to make sense of the turmoil in our heads and make peace with one another. We should meet up and say hello you so nice to meet you and have a nice day it's been fun I love you. Maybe then in this time and space this world would be in better shape if we all just hugged and said hello and understood each other's woes all hatred laid to waste. Anyways I've rambled on you must think I'm daft my head all wrong it's just reaching out that's all.

Hello Colin,
Thank you for your recent comments on my work especially the poem One of many... You are right in that I have come to know myself after many years of turmoil. I value your comments enormously. Please continue to monitor and any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks again. Keith

Colin, Thanks for your comments on Darkness which I appreciate. Your comments often give rise to thought which are of real help. As far as Like buttons are concerned. I am so hopeless with computers that I have probably pressed the wrong button somewhere. Thanks again. Keith

Hi Colin, enjoyed that "Hello You" poem, maybe old, I don't know, but still has relevance. Made me start thinking about Customer Surveys, Job Applications, Loan Applications (I have much experience) and so on. A definite verse there somewhere, but nice one matey.

Colin, thanks for your comment on His Cherished Domain. You are right as it is an extension of the front parlour, a sacred zone, beautifully kept and seldom used. Thanks again. Keith

Colin, Thank you again for the interest in my poetry especially A Sad Memory. It recalls the day when, at the age of four and half years, we moved north as a family. My father had secured a better job there. For me it was traumatic and I never truly settled there. At the age of 18 I fled to join HM Forces, never to return. Tenerife is my home as my partner is here, also a poet (a published one) but Spanish. I love being in the Canaries. Thank you again for your interesting comment which I appreciate. Keith

in India....the Muslim as well as non Muslim girls are well educated. our hijab, our abaya and our veil don't restrict us from being educated at all....i wish people could adhere to their basics and still embark the journey of life....education is important be it religious or scientific...it deletes the ignorance and gives your convictions logical justification.

i liked your perspective...it's quite deep.....i didn't go that far....cz i never faced such troubles by the grace of God almighty.

thanks.

"No words to live, No ink to spill, Still fingers itch and move,Inscribing skeptical views"...... well !!!!
at times you have silent thoughts, you just cant pen them or put them into words...but as a writer or poet...your fingers wish to write, put your feelings into words...in that case...you just write your views which are unclear, unsure and doubtful.....a writer's woe.....the best that i can explain.....πŸ˜ƒ

Hello Colin, Thank you for commenting on A Mountain Journey. In answer to your query. I live on the island of Tenerife which boasts the highest mountain in Spain and which is also a dormant volcano. In the winter months the summit is often covered in snow. This can provide the scenario for an excursion from sun drenched beaches upwards through pine forests to the caldera of the volcano where there is often snow. Thanks again. Keith

Hi Colin!! I love this piece! I don't know if you read the write up on me but I stated that 'Who Learns My Lesson Complete' is my favorite poem. I mention it now because its for the same reasons that I dig this poem. I closes the gap between time and space. It is very present. I don't know if you'll be sipping tea or using the bathroom when you read this comment, but whenever and wherever you do, we will have made a connection because of your acute awareness. Thank you for bringing me back to now. Good job!

Hey Col, you are very kind. I deleted my profile a while ago for security reasons and reopened under a psuedonym. Am steadily uploading a combo of new and old. Glad you enjoyed it! Just been having a read of Hello You. You're dead honest. I like it.

'to make sense of the turmoil in our heads
and make peace with one another'

Isn't that what we're all here trying to do? And seems to be my life's longing. Lovely stuff.

Yours faithfully,
A Fan πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ x

thanks for the comments on 'Bag Of Bones' Colin - glad you liked it. The suggestion to add the 'bag of bones' reference to the last line would, I feel, labour the metaphor a little. I was hoping that line might be a 'soft trigger' early on in the poem as to what the piece is about. Thanks for the suggestion though

Colin, your poem 'Hello, You' is a sheer delight. I have two rather clear weeks starting today, and I hope to do some catching up with your work.

I owe my profile picture to a Yorkshire poet who said, 'That painting suits you perfectly. And your work. Don't be shy.' His was great insight; I absolutely love it. God knows what it portrays to people who don't yet know my work. The poem really should be right beneath it.

And Travis' 'red typewriter'. And the chap who had the 'green eye'. Some icons work splendidly. Others don't. They take a lot of thought, with their subliminal messages striking the new reader even before the poet's words.

See? I do have time on my hands. Yaketty... yaketty. I'm gone.

Thanks for the comments on the bird pieces. They were actually not conceived together, and written several years apart. Simply seemed a natural pairing for posting. It's an interesting notion though ...
