I'm 18 years old and I'm very passionate about writing. I tend to be scatter brained in terms of my insatiable interest In learning up on a variety of  different subjects. I'm very analytical and at times internally conflicted, but that's what I think makes me such a great writer. I love incorporating philisophical concepts into my poetry for the reason that I think they are better related to when approached poetically. For as long as I can remember I've known it was not only my passion but also my duty to be a writer, and that's why I'm here today.

"When I Dream" When I dream,  I temporarily lose my mind- And when I wake, I often wish I could rewind-time- Explore the depths of the undefined- In the madness of my mind; In a world where I am no longer confined.       When I dream, I cross the barrier of my fears- Sometimes awoken in tears; Off and on for years. When I dream, my subconscious will awaken; My sanitys preservation-  Internal restoration, Through silent contemplation.  "Admittedly" Maybe its a habit, Or maybe it's just you- It's just that you're so damn charismatic, And their motives are all askew. They use every connection- On their future deception, And they do so maliciously; Too young to be thinking so cynically. Admittedly-the duplicity- Is really affecting the tranquility; Still you participate willingly, Holding to the hope of some newfound dignity, But the acidity- Of their efficiency-literally- Affects your mobility, And for that I have no sympathy.

Hi Carly, welcome to Write Out Loud. I'm sure we will continue enjoying your poems. In fact I felt your words as my own in your poem "When I dream".

When I dream it dissipates my grief, I feel free, feel peace and freedom. When I dream words come together as poems.

Thank you for reading “I only ask”.
Only love can lead us to the elevation of the soul, joy and happiness, even when mistakes are made, but sometimes it also inflicts wounds and leave very deep scars that are almost impossible to erase and yet we still love love.
