A Glimpse of Spring The morning sun Pierces the eastern window Harkening the spring Dispelling the cold of winter On the coldest day of the year The sun brings hope of warmth The winter solstice only weeks past And New Yearโ€™s resolutions Made and being forgotten Amidst the lengthening hours Of the rebirth Time holds its tread Against the stammering Force of natureโ€™s winter chill Yet the warmth of spring Felt on the back of the neck As tears trickle down the cheeks A mix of morning glare and winter cold Holding fast to the calendar Snow in the forecast Punctuates the day Determined to claim its place In the seasonal order The lassitude of summer Long forgotten Amid the glories of fall Yielding to the Shortening of the days And the depth of winter Another season In the new year Another chance of New beginnings The rites of spring Now stirring the primordial stew Bringing with them A glimpse of spring 1/11/19

Thanks for the kind words, Bruce.

I've perused some of your pieces as well, and I have noticed a well-written element within them - kind of like a refined technique that shows up in your work. As a whole, you write very well and it is great to see that put to good use.

Keep up the great work yourself Mr. Levine, the world always needs great poets.๐Ÿ‘

Amongst them all, I would most like to know your own favorites.

Thanks for posting the link,

Welcome to WOL, Mr. Levine. I'll try to catch up with some of your poetry here. That is an impressive BIO.

BTW, I would have got the G&S beat: the 'tra la la's' are a dead clue.
