I like to write, but wouldn't refer to myself as a writer. I like poetry, and I've written quite a bit of it. Most of it is pretty bad in my opinion, but occasionally I like something that wrote itself through my hand. About me? Well, it's hard to know how to crack that nut. I'm just an average guy that has experienced life from many differing perspectives. Adopted at the age of four, I was parented by two wonderfully dysfunctional parents. I wanted to be an artist, was accepted to the Cleveland Institute of Art, but ended up in the USMC instead. My adopted dad didn't want me to be an under-achieving no-good artist. He wanted the military to put some iron into my bones. It didn't work. Instead, I ended up in Africa trying to do good works as a missionary. My then wife and I raised a family in Kenya for fourteen years. Returning home in 1998, I ended up back in college to finish my degree. I graduated in 2007, was divorced (after 30 years), and had to start over again. Here I am.

I'm excited to find this site because it combines simplicity with minimalism - yet, has an elegance too. It seems easy to use, and affords me the opportunity and motivation to post poetry of mine both new and old.
