SWEAR WORDS

I tell you what puzzles me, seeing as you’re interested. Why are there no swear words longer than 2 syllables? This occurred to me as I was looking for a 3-syllable one to fit the rhythm I was writing in. Even the 2 syllable ones are often a construction of a 1-syllable root with “-ing” attached.
I wonder if this is a particularly Anglo-Saxon phenomenon or do other languages mirror it? Polyglots might advise.
My own theory is that when you hit your thumb with a hammer, you don’t naturally search for a long word.
Observations on a postcard, please.
