Tourniquet

 

Skirting around Bethlehem is a concrete snake of painted hate,

pulsing with poison ready to strike, it coils and grips and looms.

 

Small figures dance beneath its towers, shadow people “Untermensch”

to them it’s just a backdrop from where the Sun reveals the day.

 

They burn and strike and curse it yet still it slithers between two worlds,

it never moves or fades, it has...
