Liminal Space
No one else gets off at this stop
No one else gets on
The carriage is empty but
The lights still flicker on
Rows of empty seats collide
As it rocks from side to side
And in the silence of these walls
Peace is found from outside wars
The automated voice calls
Next stop is mine
But I don’t want to leave these walls
It’s better than outside
But the train has stopped and the brakes are on

Deep Within The Cacophany
From deep within the cacophony of roads
There stood the barest hint of a rose
Not quite alive, but not quite dead
And too small to turn a head
But still it stayed
And kept on living
Until one day, it started giving.
It laid its petals on the floor
And watched as children stopped to adore
The pieces of itself if gave
To give them joy in one small way.
The rose continued on li...

The Sun, The Moon, And The Sea
A piece of darkness bled into the sky
And resulted in stars and what we call “night”
The Moon was born of her dissatisfaction
At being a star, she felt she was sanctioned
So she fell in love with the Sea
As did the Sun and he envied
The Sea and the Moon together at last
But the Sun vowed their relationship was past
He kissed the Sea goodnight each day
To his side, he tried to sway
But th...

In Transit
I rode the train
With my earphones in
I pretended I
Did not exist
For a time it worked
Then the train lurched
And reality blurred
Into something worse
The carriage shifts
Beneath my feet
From left to right
Like the sea
Every movement, every sound
Breaks pieces off of me
Every shake upon the groundÂ
Drags me further into the deep
And they all see me for who I am
A broken shell

The Only One Awake
I’ll stay in this trance,Â
Where the music’s a danceÂ
Where it’s dark outsideÂ
In the dead of night.Â
And the only soundÂ
Is rain on the groundÂ
And the only personÂ
Awake is meÂ
The world sleepsÂ
And I listenÂ
To the sound of the windÂ
Watch the treetops glistenÂ
In a land drenched in waterÂ
And a heart soaked in brineÂ
The world inside this room is mineÂ
The world is your oyster i...

The Space Between
We play music
To fill the silence
Between words we don’t say
Those we can’t
We pretend it’s okay
In the silent car
And I sing to the music
To cover old scars
The silence tears open
The memories unspoken
That left me broken
In this very car
The silence surrounds me
Just like that night
And it bringsÂ
All but delight
And makes me realise
I live in that space
It is my home
That I d...

Watch With Me
Lost guitars, recovered souls
Music of the stories told
Carry far away the stars
Bring the moon, it can't be far
Embers rise from the sea
Broken pieces away from me
Water flows although it’s still
I’m oddly calm as I drink my fill
Of stars and grass
Of sea and sound
Of the world that we have found
Listen closely to the ground
Feel the warmth all around
The sky is melting as we speak
