Ringmaster 10 / the nowhere poems

Beneath the
bleachers,
our toes buried

taunt by
misguided
popcorn
bites on

one another's

delicious necks,

our life
is a wonderland.
of confetti
and caged
animal
salvation.

our laughter
echoes
from the
furled
corners
of heavy
canvas tents.

panting sighs

and moans

to the wind.

sparks fly
from the
mingling
of our lust

and passion

play..

dust

Whispers cry / the nowhere poems

Heart
displaced.

shadow
smiles,

hourglass
moments,

fleeing
from across
your face.

no one
listening
to still
heart beats.

your thoughts
jumping
from one
moon
to the next.

holding
back
time.

upsetting
the gentle
balance
of the
universe.

because your
not really
there.

your here
with me.

as the tide
wipes the beach
clean of false
impressions.

so have you

A different point of view / the nowhere poems

A jack daniel's
jitterbug
point of
view.

stumbling
a little
left and
then a little
right.

fall rain
running
off my
crimson

jacket's
silhouette.

caught
somewhere
between
love
and fleeing
the refuge
from this

heart break
of you.

candy wrapper
love affair
now melted
all over
me. left
tasteless
and wanting
in the still
black air.

throw me
a life jacket.

Margret's dreams / the nowhere poeems

As she slides down the slippery slope of another bottle of beer she

scours the bar for a man and the possibility of a  place to call home tonight.

touched with a tinge of regret and

 a hint of " I don't give a damn anymore."

she nests at the same stool she has

made a home for the past 11 years.

two or three men head out the back door and

taunt call her name as they...

No survivors and what we leave behind / the nowhere poems

Her cellophane
kisses.

the ones that
would lose
interest,

somewhere
between
"I love you,"
and "i love
you too."

the fights
for the
extra
pillow ,

that started
around
midnight
and then
continued

twelve
thirteen
rounds
into night.

rarely

ending
in a no
decision.

always
someone
had to
win and
somebody
had to
lose.

which in
hindsight

A door held opened / the nowhere poems

Each of us
ready,

waiting,
under
chameleon skins
of past
relationships.
colors and
textures
blurred.

we wait
open
like tributary
veins
ready to
flow into
the mother
load.

we hope
eternal,
defined by
our last
breath,

and the
horizon
that lies
before
us.

speechless
unsettled
you retire
to take a
bath ...

and I
return to
find my
way through

this ...

Insecure moments / the nowhere poems

Eat the sun.

then
pull it's roots
out from
her naked
soul.

suck dry
her tender
marrow
bones.

she will
not be
saved

or lie

juicy again.

let love
fall deaf,

to her
Sunday
school
prayers
and hollow
pleas.

God will
not listen
to her.

she threw
it all
away.

to be this.

and less
than this.

mother with
child.

on her
back
constantly
looking up
at ceiling...

Lost and not quite found / the nowhere poems

In her
silence
I know.

in the

rubble of

a another

broken love

affair

she rots...

the pinions
of love
have
left
her for

dead..

sharp

cutting

crystal
tears
are her
nightly
baptism.

and then
blur the
life she
once led.

sun falls
down and
emptiness
paints the
night.

those
disturbing
colors
again.

the emotional
hues of
sorrow and

Imbetween / the nowhere poems

May someday
my rainbow
land next to
yours,

and celebrate
in union
under
open sky.

where I might
find you,
and hold
you close,

and whisper
universal
secrets of
love to
your heart.

and leave far
behind
this in between
world
we exist in.

where we
do not love
with all
of our love.

or dance

in joy all
of our
dances.

and even
in the most
tenderest

Still / the nowhere poems

She stumbles
in silence
to her
love's
death
kneel.

her pride
will not
let her
fall..

her spirit
not quite
as true.

her eyes
so distant
and so
small.

again the perfect
lover before her,
broken
and shattered,

like fine
Ming china
at her
feet.

under the
belly
of salt
and pepper
paper
mache clouds,

the rain
has become
the tears
lost
from her

keeps me guessing / the nowhere poems

I look
at you
and

my belly
of love
aches,

from it's
deepest
point
of view.

across the
street
on the
corner,

the same
wire framed
boned man

that I see

everyday
laughs
at the
psychotic
birds
splashing
through
puddles
in this
wide cracked
street.

my poems
today
fall apart
from me

so easily

with taste
like pull
pork
sandwiches
at a
county

this canopy of you / the nowhere poems

rogue
smiles,

tender
loli pop

kisses
shared,

tell
our full
measure.

fingers
entwined
as we
sleep.

at first
chance
to awake
you,

I reach
to pull
you close.

the moonlight
caresses

our entangled
silhouettes,

and again
like a
miracle,

it is
true,

I witness
it.

this
diamond

meadowed
sky has
lost
it's universal
presence.

for it

the hunger of loneliness / the nowhere poems

the hunger
of loneliness

and it's
shiny white
peral teeth,

and cold
chilled
breath

that surrounds
you naked
late
at night,
when

you hear
every sound
for a
hundred
miles
around and

under your
bed.

and every
night
under
starless
skies it's
appetite
lies
unquenched,

so it
returns

where
it knows

despair and

hopelessness
best.

like a river

years later

like old black

and love

you fear it

exhausted

you collapse

across

my body

like a

marathon runner

stretching

across her

finish line.

muscles aching

breathing erratic,

sweat dripping

like a

hot river

between your

breasts.

I whisper

your name

but you

do not

answer me...

the melancholy

of other races

both won

scarred

memories

draped over

me,

now like a

spiders

cocoon

woven tight

against a

wall.

your voice

still

echoes on

the telephone

 line.

the phone

receiver now

held useless

against

 my ear,

my mind

lost in the dead

calm of

silence.

last words

penny jar

gone broke.
