Echoes: ‘a glorious anthology… bursting with delightful poems’ Buy now. Limited stocks.

I've no idea, either (Apparently Ai does)

With every thought

With every stride

No mater how far

Or difficult

to undetstand

Never give up

The earth turns

And turns

The Birds sing

And sing

Thin distant echoes of the past

Slide past into the future

Without a thought

Or presence of mind

Just wait

And wait

For you

To catch up

If you ever can

People are kind

People are ki...

The Corn Bunting. Gog Magog on a Windy Day

A thin metallic modification of the wind,

its chatterling lost to the sky.

Unnoticed if heard,

if seen, not seen—

insignificant to the many,

but a key to the few who know.

A Fountain Pen

A leather pen case

Lays beneath the detritus of life

A fountain pen

Metalic blue

Purple ink

Once flowed

Now the nib is dry

Expertly used In her hands

Her lists

Her words

Her world

Of purple

A small cog In the wheel of life

Enourmous definition

of being

Leaving a presence

In a moment of time

Laid out in unique organic marks

Through a simple to...

Life in a Cardboard Box

All thats happened

Over the past 70 years

Architect of eventualities

Molder of lives

Contained in a cardboard box

A life full of love

Embellished with laughter

Sodden with grief

when dark clouds pass by

Always searching for the sun

Spirit to wander

where it wants

Free as a lark

rising to the sun

Singing an endless song of love

To those left be...

The poetic process. Not.

This poetry stuff is hard work

Infact it's really tough

Trying to write something

That you think's not good enough

Line after line

Trying to get things to rhyme

Or not may be

Adding a salubrious word

Here and there

Without a care

Whether it means this or that

Which makes you look

An idiot

I suppose

If it really suits the prose

Whatever that...

The Poetical Cat

Once I had a Poetical Cat

Apart from always sitting on the mat

It was extremely nice and would only ever eat

large, fat, brown mice.

Until one day she met a cat

Called Mr Grumpy.

So she started eating things rather lumpy

This went on for quite sometime

Eating things to suit this rhyme

Until she met

A Cat

Called

Mrs

Twit

                      The End

Nothing Serious

Brian's gone off his rocker

It's not because he lost his job as a docker

Although it wasn't realy his fault

It's not because he trashed his car

By driving it into the local bar

Which was in the wrong place anyway

It's not because he's been done for fraud

Trying sell that dodgy antique sword

He bought in good faith

It's not because his gran's on her last legs

Probably ...

A Lost Night Out

A short cycle ride

In the dark at night

Following circuitous paths

With hand held light

Passing illuminated walkers

Around the edge of the town

Think I'm going the right way

Because I'm no gown

It starts at 7:15

Should be on time

Taking it steady

But didnt expect that sign

It's rather awful weather

And now it's going to be a bit tight

Wind ...

Realy Hard (gone twelve)

This is hard

Realy hard

Not knowing

Where to go

What to do

What to say

What to feel

How to be me

Now you are not here

I should weep

But not for you

But for me

Selfish I know

You are in a better place

So they say

May be

But not with me

I need to move on

But not yet

In my heart, never

In my mind, never

With my love, never

You will n...

A Slightly Topical Conversation

Oh hello

Not seen you for a while

He said with a smile

No, yes I've been giving you the slip

And now I'm off on another trip

Anywhere nice?

Back to the alps and all that ice?

Although saying that

It's probably colder here

this time of year

Switzerland actually

Oh that's good, all that snow and apres ski

Although it's realy not for me

Especialy now

As it...

Flat battery

Not realy any warning

Although on my drive it's been adorning

Even moved it this morning

To sort the garage out

Roadside to driveway is only a few feet

For call out purposes it won't meet

So on the roadside will stay

Hoping the learner drivers

Try and steer out of its way

'Cause if they do collide

Down my points will slide

Fingers crossed

It will be f...

The tin of paint (mixed)

I have this tester

Which I'd like to make lighter

So to make my bathroom brighter

I'm sorry having  mixed it before

The computer can't do it again

Well that's a bit of a pain

I said

Trying not to complain

Can't  you just tip

A bit of this

Into that?

What do you mean

I don't understand

Well you just mix it by hand

Put the colour into white

Trying to so...

Not done this before

So I did something today

I'd not done before

Walked to the cinema

For half past four

Paid for my ticket

Not only that

Bought some popcorn

And on my own I sat

The film was good

Or so I heard

The topic was about

A local bird

Kept awake

all the way through

Walked back home

For seven twenty two

Dilemma

I have this violin

It's very old

And broken

Can't even play the thing

Took it to a chap

To have a look

Is it worth to mend

No

But send it to this place

For a trainee

To repair

You could even buy it

If you have a few thousand quid

To spare

If it Happens to Men (as it does to women)

If it happens to men
As much as it does to women
Things would be different now
The pain would be less
The path short
Dignity and respect
Not that
I'm expert
You understand
Being the former
And not the latter

You're on a journey
But not to Italy
And you must play NICEly
Follow the rules
No matter how tough
It's the only way
Or so thay say
Unless you are the chosen few

Sorry...

My wife took a different path. See below why

Agony discomfort distress

Radiation mutilation poisoning

Your dead but still alive

Never to be the same again

Well done you survived

Goodbye

That sinking feeling

You know its bad

Dark

Pouring with rain

The year has barely started

Waiting

With everyone else

Nothing to do, but wait

Two and a half turns into three

No way out

Just wait

With everyone else

Then one by one

We go

Slowly

Passing the total chaos

On other side

Still hidden in the dark

It must be bad

No blue lights yet

Just a queue

On the ...

Nothing special until its gone.

A red kite languidly drifts across field

Tick

A peregrine stoops into the woods

Tick

Pigeons scatter

Tick

Was that a kingfisher?

Probably was

You only ever see a flash of turquoise

Anyway, tick

Parakeets squabbling in the oak tree

Before they settle down for the night

Tick

Blue tit

Tick

Robin

Tick

Tick, Tick,tick

But I seem to remember

Lon...

Mid life crisis at 66

Sorry

I've  just realised

What I'm doing here

I bought an upright piano

Two thousand quid

Having moved from a coaching Inn

To a bungalow

Can't play the thing either

Hide entries

So at the top

It said hide entries

So I did

Click on it that is

And poem and the poet

Disappeared

But I never got to read it

I may have liked it

It's a bit presumptuous

To ask me to delete before

I've given myself a chance to read

I may have liked it

Sorry

Whoever you are

Add Entry

It says add entry

Assuming I know

What this means

And writing this as I go

There's quite a wide space

Between the lines

So may be this is a poem

Or not

I don't know
