Platitudes
I am tired behind my eyes
and in the spaces between my toes
the feelings in my heart now spread through
some unknown process
into the outermost reaches of my body
like drops of mercury they are heavier than they appear
and yet they rise rise rise
into the heavens
in the connections
electricity jives
a consciousness emerged
unrequested
