Every night I look above to the stars listening for answers to questions that have not yet even left my lips
My eyes graze the spotted horizon looking for a sign that will silence my thoughts just long enough to exhale and soothe my soul
Some nights I hear soft whispers encouraging me to no longer worry and mope, some nights, a deafening silence reminding me of my own loneliness

Silent Night
The night falls without haste
wrapping the earth in its subtle hands.
The wind, silent, traces the outlines of space
and the stars are brief words
written in the black sky
Nothing moves, yet everything unfolds
Time dissolves in the cool air
where solitude becomes company
and silence is profound

through every corner of the world
