This morning I was having a conversation 

a slightly uncomfortable conversation . 

I thought about a world without men

and my boyfriend seemed upset.

"Even without me?" he asked 

and that was a though one to answer.

I thought about a world with no fear

no fear for my body, no fear for me.

But honestly a world without him,

that is even more scary to think about.

why do we have one day
to celebrate their life in a special way
for all the things they do
every time its something new.

for all the love they show
for all their radiance and their glow
for all the thoughts in their head
even when they sleep in their bed. 

they teach us so many things
from flying pans to diamond rings
for all the sacrifice they make 
and keep it buried in a lake.
