Transcendent Love

Dear Lord, please find me

somebody to love.

God replied, no,

not just one love.

I give you an ocean

of eternal love

found only in faith,

poetry and music.

From this special place,

you will find love

like you have never known,

from kindred spirits

around the world,

transcending

space and time,

to give you a glimpse

of the divine.

The Day After The Day of Days

In the memory of all the flames that ignited coastlines,
The strings of dazzling Christmas lights,
The long-forgotten chronic normalcy,
The countless ceremonial wreaths—

I realize that from one beginning to the next,
We often overlook the vast expanse of nothingness.
Our stories swing from one pole to its antipode.
The aftermath, a distant folklore.

But every grocery store receipt,

Roots of Love

Roots of Love

Ones moon rises as the others descends.

The Sun brings their identity as they unlock their worlds.

One gusts into the world as Air.

One ignites into the world as Fire.

One love’s expressing through intellectuality!

One’s motivated by inspirations and aspirations!

Compostition of Intimacy

With fears of eternal solitude, I called truce.

Obstacles fill the atlas of our hearts,

distracting our impressions of exquisite Love.

Our painful beliefs insist we reprieve our minds,

voiding our previously learned doctrines of romance.

Phobias of Love furiously traveled the hourglass of our lives.

Chaos constrained our philosophy of enchantment,

The Soul of the Moon

I stole the soul of the moon,

Kept it unclothed to illume

Dark, deserted manor rooms

And fireflies that forever loom

Above fifty forsaken tombs.

I secured a piece for me,

Kept it between creases deep

And verses of revered balladry

Written on the tattered leaves

Of my hands rickety.

But then came a shooting star,

Its hands stocked with bits of its hea...

Withered The Storm

You were this horrible dark cloud
That came rushing in
disguised as the sunshine
Just with a slight dim
You spread Ray's of lies all over me
Washing me with a fairytale

Lost in the Lyrics

I remember getting lost in the lyrics when I was a young girl. I would stop and start my record or cassette a hundred times while I wrote down every word so I could sing along to the song.

Lyrics was my escape when I had no place to go.

I learned lyrics, meter, and rhyme, from the best poetry teachers of my time...

Movies at Midnight

Streams of consciousness,
Trapped in a panoply of celluloids
And abandoned plastic films,
Catch my eye.

I share them on the big screen
Where silent silver stills breathe
And glide across skylines
At midnight.

They inch closer to me.
The starry-eyed starlets seal
The gulf that lies
Between our eyes,
And fill my ears
With secrets and whispers

A Vagabond's Road

A lonesome vagabond

Whistled away through his life-

Through autumn, summer and the cruel cold.

He lived a life, so kind, so benign,

Myriad pathways he could've chosen.

Pathways adorned with petals of roses,

But a bed of roses would've given him no thrill

Through summer fever and winter chills.

Today he lies in moth-devoured drapes,

At the edge of the very road that gra...

They blend seamlessly into the dirt,

The Poetry King

A bow to The Poetry King,
who thinks he doesn't

The Flame Within

She has a beauty that shines from within

A light that never grows dim

Her candle goes not out by night

And the radiance inside her, ever bright

When the wind blows,

Her flame - it holds

She thrives, she sparks

She glows, she grows.

From the piercing rays

As we remain ensnared
In our reveries,

Some tips to write a good poem

There is no need

to set your poem to the music of the heart, or let it sway

to the rhythms of the hurt, at least for today.

There is no need

for you to panic, or dive into the pyre of rhyme

Burn later, if you will, but for now, wait out your time.

Let it corrupt a little, breathe in the zones unlit

Break and crumble, and feed on itself, bit by bit.

A quick flash, oh I held onto it,

A memory making its way through,

A sweet stolen reminiscence.

 School walls adorned in colors,

Merry of White uniforms,

Green bands, Orange ribbons,

A paper flag pinned to my chest,

Aren't We?

Blessed be the silver spoons
Which feed us till we’re replete.
Blessed be the dream-filled moons
Which oversee us with glee.
Ambitious, aren’t we?
The moons illume
A thousand seas
And take us to
Places and people unseen.
Vagabonds, aren’t we?
We hold the power to love and seduce,
To ensnare and release
These people and places till insanity ensues,

A New Birth

I was born at twenty-one

Thrust out of the womb

Released into the newness of life

Born, at twenty one

Eyes opened to the world

Crying, struggling, fighting

Trying to make sense of it all

Yes, I was only born at twenty-one

Borne out of education

Borne out of society’s expectations

Borne out of comfort, out of the shield

Though I lived before

Profound sadness

Deceit tells us: what they have is better than ours

Deceit tells us: what they have is better than ours

So now we wrestle with discontent

Forever seeking,

Wanting,

Desiring something that was never our own

Blessings become blurred

When seen through the lens of another

Our sight diminishes

With each gaze and long lusting look

That will never be

Bottled Letters

It presents gravels before my feet,

The sea

When it meets the sand,

Holding my longing gaze as I stand

Atop coffined treasures

And pebbles filled with flints made from memories,

That weigh my slippers

Down to this deserted beach.

Myriad secrets encaged in their bottle shaped ampoules

Float aimlessly like vagabonds do.

Imprisoned in cells of reminiscence,

They await...

Living in a wasteland

Decades have passed.

The world has changed,

along with its people.

It no longer brings joy to my heart,

as it did in my time.

All because of them.

What happened to the days,

when the only thing one could do during a lovely day

was to step out the front door and pamper one's self

with the five senses that Mother Nature had provided?

'Listening to Elvis, thinking it over'

I wish I knew what to say

I look for words

But they just escape me

I look for a sign, everyday

But the faith I feel, it fades away

Set the alarm, wake up and keep on going

But all the while, my tears are flowing

What about the love and joy that I felt in my heart?

Please don’t tell me we’re destined to depart?

Plath's Poppies

Plath's poppies bloom
In days of gloom,
From July through October.
The scarlet florets burn like ember,
And line up before tombstones
And hallucinatory portals.
Some look up to the sky, their eventual abode,
And some like a skirt, tent their petals.
A sprightly bird's staccato trills
Fragment further when hit by perils
That tag along with the siren of the ambulance
Carting a lady who...

THE MASK

I can’t see

But I can dream

It’s like wearing a blindfold

On my brown eyes

I can’t watch, but I can feel

All these weird wild vibes

All these angelic faces around me

But those diabolic souls surround me

Are they real or are they fake?

It’s like watching a blue snowflake

Falling for smiles and grace

All night murdering for a race

I can’t wait

My anklets fill the air with resounding laughs

As I scuttle between tall blades of grass.

I feel free

Like I'm the breeze.

A yearning dream

Lounges among the clouds.

I feel safe and sound.

Did I tell you that I feel free?

The Aftermath

Stars fall from the sky

And congregate on the ground to erect an ivory palace,

As bright as day, as searing as the desires

Entombed deep under the earth's surface.

It doesn't take nightfall

To lure them inside-

The eager, the crafty, the venal, the mortal.

Every nugget of their flesh blazes in the lambent lights.

Inscrutable power it gives them

The One

People haven’t always

been there for me,

but the muse always has.

Lighting my path,

healing heartbreak,

the one making life fun.

Makes sure suffering is not in vain,

dances with me in the rain,

stays beside me come what may.

I return the favor by making

my muse’s words known.

Spreading love as we go.

All That Remains Is A Mere House

Tufts of dust

Caper about my mosaic glass.

Blotches of ferric rust

Offer me an unceremonious welcome at last.

Things I'd once befriended

Seem distant and cold.

Deaf ears to the chime of my footsteps

Tell me they've forgotten their companion of old.

I don't think that the Queen of England acts the same

No cure for what she has she is a victim of her own pain

Living in her own mental lies

Karin cries at whatever she finds

Loosing out when it has nothing to do with constitutional rights

The leaves liberated themselves

First we think about what it’s for.

The purpose might be to keep your chattels penned

A Lullaby of Loss

(Inspired by Death With Dignity, Sufjan Stevens)

Stoic and sober silence, I can feel you,
Like a blanket draped 'round me
When I'm down with flu.
Why don't you speak?
Decimated dreams, I can see you
Even in the stark bleak.
The color of coal.
When will you heal?
Whispers of floating phantoms, I can hear you,
When you hover over my cot
And sing a berceuse.
Why did you stop?

Tenant of the Sea

He witnessed the rise and fall of the tides

Of the sea that seemed so milky in the moonlight.

Gloating over its graceful strides,

The rumble of the colossal sea was all he could hear that silent night.

The stars twinkled in the darkness,

And the moon in the blackness

Gazed dotingly at him and his boat,

As the decrepit carrier carted its master swiftly afloat.

Can You Hear The Moon Sing At Night?

Can you hear the moon sing at night?
A distant melody from the most dulcet vocal pipes?
Have you ever nestled in her crescent bed
Like the kid in the DreamWorks emblem?
My winsome lady

Her visage,
Part amused, part exasperated.
For she knows why I've come to see her again--
To steal the roux from stars, milky and fulgent.

There it sits nailed to its tree

So long after the event…so long

A statement of intent to make

And yet the message was lost to me

Sadly, lost within their ignorance

Here we have a living thing

It has lived longer than you or I

Vital for our survival…essential

Wounded, yet still very much alive this tree

And how one rusty nail speaks volumes

As it holds it’s now faded ...
