you know just who you are

the one I craved affection from

little did I know then

your inner demons and battles

had I been aware, so different

life would be, to me maybe life would matter

im sorry for the torment

A Green Planet

A Green Planet

War has been declared on all fossil fuels

The planet must be protected at all costs

Too little, too late

For centuries we have littered the world

It has been used and abused

Ocean beds are covered with sunken ships

Unexploded ordinance lies deep in the soils of many lands

Chemicals have scarred the home of humanity

Fish grow into grotesque mutations b...

Savages

For all me life I have been living among 'em:  savages. savages in suits.

Now they are becoming increasingly loathsome to me.

As a kid in bed I was alone, like a boat afloat in the sea.

Spotted land? Savages abound, in the suburbs, in the town

Savages abound.

Cultivating selfishness, meanness and spite.

Their unholy trinity: y've made yer bed, now lie on it,

The Monster

The Monster came out of the deep dark cave.
It ate everyone but me.

The following day the Monster once again came out of the deep dark cave.
It ate everyone but me.

The next day the Monster emerged from the deep dark cave.
It ate everyone but me.

For you see, I am the Monster.

“She was so tired most of the time she did not even pretend to feel anything.” - Joyce Carol Oates

He told me I’m supposed to be a ray of sunlight, but the only time I see the sunshine is when it rises, passing over my windshield and reflecting across my rearview mirror. I watch my life disappear behind me, dusty roads from a town I no longer know growing hazy in the distance behind ripples of ...

I lay on a hard mattress curled in the foetal position,

wrapped in a chrysalis of darkness.

A fancy metaphor could not explain the meaning of life,

it had simply become irrelevant.

I had become so skinny that my skin was pulled

guitar string taut over aching bones,

that doctors had threatened to hospitalise me.

But now, allergic to life, my skin peeled at the thought of being.

Monday blues

My alarm clock beeps at 5 a.m.

Back to square one, I go again

An ungodly hour to start the day

But what to do? I've got bills to pay

No time for morning civilities

"Has anyone seen my friggin' keys?"

Stuck in traffic for almost an hour

Arrive at work in a mood quite sour

Phew! Just made it: it's five-to-eight

The boss glares at me: "You're bloody late!"

Love Letter to My Muse

All day long

I think of you.

I can’t wait to get home

to be with you,

to feel your ink drip

between my fingers.

You are my love,

my passion,

my muse.

I know you will

never leave me.

We are bound

by a legacy of words,

that braids our soul.

Our poetry echoes

through time and space,

leaves a soft place

for broken hearts to land.

Light

There is a certain light

And you have seen the yellow flame dance

rise and twirl into the deep

crepuscular and cerulean blue

This time I am alone, no gangs, only me.

Out of season I tread on pebble and stone.

So disillusioned with life, I wander alone.

No sound of laughter, just the ring of a till.

Only a few people brave the desolate shore.

The steps that stirred the dust in Galilee?
The feet that bring good news of Living Jesus,
The Light of lights arisen in you and me?
Her path is one of peace, of joy, of hope,
Breaching the walls of ignorance and fear,
And leads to the twilit Resurrection Garden,
See in Her embrace the Christ Light now appear;

Landing

The place where we landed seemed good.
There was water, and food, and air,

but others were there before us,
and they told us we couldn’t stay.

There’s no room here, they said.
We can’t help you.

So we,
the last humans,
went back to our ship
and continued our search
for a home.

The 2000s were much the same,

with crushes, dear diaries,

womanhood, and makeup

sprinkled about like the dandelion seeds

we used to blow into...

Liverpool Song

Liverpool Song

Liverpool,

A city of wild hopes and dishevelled dreams,

Reclines by the riverside

Waiting for the tide of its times.

A seabound, wavecrowned, tidebound city,

City of white spray and foam,

Crested by gulls, and smiles, and screams,

City on its long way home.

A restless, relentless, unrelenting city,

Troubled by the sou...

Finders Keepers

Hide and Seek

Put fear on the list of things you should lose

With odd socks and gloves and your second best shoes.

Let regret go with burdensome guilt,

Give them away with your second hand quilt.

Composure and peace can often seem hid,

Like the start of the sellotape orTupperware lid.

The loss of the key to your bike lock or shed,

Is nothing to losing control of your head.

If The Heavens Were Fair

It’s nearly time for your medication.

I’m drinking my seventh cup of tea

and thinking how much better you’ve been

since the start of the new regime.

That sounds like you’re sick,

or a political beast,  not merely slow

and easily distracted; the worst

combination of tortoise and hare.

If the heavens were fair

your sister wouldn’t grasp

the lion’s share of love and loom...

I Live Over There |

All Around

Whom I search hitherto all around
Is not hiding some where in ground
When ever got it -was just the ground
I tried to get upside down -found
Nothing which is bound
I searched for it in adhan sound
But theres just echoes all way around
Leading me nowhere just- turning round
Now all I am left all alone with hounds.

Duality Dissected

Sometimes black and white become one.

Gods omnipresecence is seen, white dancing across black.

Morning comes from night.

Day breaks and lights the dark.

Half the world is light, while the other half is dark.

In the dance of shadows, white light reflects colors on dark night.

Prisms take white light and reflect colors on black night.

White light, dark night.

Black canv...

Generation Atlas

You are generation Altlas

balancing the earth,

shouldering one massive burden

so trustful in its worth.

The summer's end it's coming soon now

and school 's gonna start again.

Fridays you'll be out on the street then,

protesting for this mess to end.

You see there's little chance for you,

so you take it into your own hands.

So good and righteous all your reas...

leap of faithfulness

Under pale moon I long for you, I would run, skip and leap, fast as the beat to the rhythm of my heart, if it would lead me to where I must be, through darkness abyss, with hunger for your kiss, where I’d tread, trespassing barb wire fence, reckless and free, like flickering fire, I’d take every chance for you, my one true desire.

Dead heart!!

Disappointments after disappointments

Hurt after hurt, so much pain in my heart

Now i have come to believe the sad reality

You will never return to me ever again

Reasons could be any or many to name

But my heart is dead facing the blows of disappointments

Nothing grows on a barren land

A dead heart is like an unfertile land

You sow hope only to r...

Floating Motion

Entertainers worldwide have been joining in the Brexit Limerickerty Challenge

When members were polled in the end

On which polished turd they’d commend,

Indicative voting

Left no motion floating,

They all disappeared round the bend.

Brexit

Smoky joints and hard bitten smiles

He moves out from the shadows

Stepping under the spotlight streetlight sign

Dark coat fedora and a single smoke signal curls

Up and around

No words spoken as he leans against

The lamp post

Waiting patiently for

The patent sound

Of her heels hitting the sidewalk

To take him off his guard

A lipsticked pencil skirted honey

With too much to lose

And not enough to ...
