Poetry Blogs (2019, courage)
It's been a hard day
Smiling pretending everything is fine
If I pretend it feels better
If I do it enough it hurts less
I haven't texted you all day
I haven't ran to you
I keep telling myself I don't need you anymore
I keep telling myself I don't love you
But a voice in my head keeps saying, " Be patient, be kind, show yourself self-love."
Then I look at my arm the word ...

The words you said made me realize it's all done
I cried, yelled, and wallowed in self pity
Then I showered
Did my hair
Put on clothes and said , "That is it girl get it together!"
I said, " That is it girl look at that mirror!"
You are BEAUTIFUL, STRONG, and SMART
I said , "I love me!"
"I love me!"

Sitting in the exam hall,
mind bogged ;
with ratios, equations and curves,
I looked around in agony
to find a reason to continue,
just in time,
to find the invigilator roaming nearby,
carrying a stack of paper, with one hand.
I looked at him to find traces of,
misery, anger and hopelessness.
a kind, encouraging smile

An open book she had been
In her mind remained nothing
Maybe he couldn't guess anything
When she kept secrets from him
The lost look in her eyes
The stolen smile on the curve of her lips

It's a love rediscovered once again
The moment she allowed the shackles to break
And run wild head on into her dreams
Many wont understand but who cares anyway

It takes a daring woman to see the strength
of remaining soft in a hard world.
To love like you've never been hurt,
when your heart has been broken many times.
The greatest act of bravery is to recognize that
loving someone makes you vulnerable,
but refusing to stop.
To be courageous enough
to look that vulnerability in the face and say
"I will not back down,
no matter how many times you...

I wrote this piece while I was caring for my identical twin brother, following major surgery. Nearly everything you may have heard about identical twins is true.
The pain of being is not mine, but
my brother's. He cries and howls the Midnight
down into uneasy drowse
as the daylight lifts his covers
over swelling clouds of hurt.
Breaking, I balm him a little,

This poem is for all those still searching for home.
Sailing an Inland Sea
A stark white galley, sail aloft,
Knifes liquid mirrors, softly heaving,
Its pattering stem a story-teller
For fishers caught
On idle frontiers, poised
Between vaults of washed cerulean.
Its Master sighs to distant shores, yearning
For Phoenicia's Thalassa; a place of purple -...

If there was no happieness
There would be nothing to enjoy.
If there was no sadness
There wouldn't be a care in the world.
If there was no friends
there would be loneliness everywhere.
If there was no uphill battles
there would be no courage
to keep on trying.
And if LIFE itself had nothing
imagine what LIFE would be....
