A Fine Line between Living and Death

You do not exist anymore

Scientifically speaking,

You are absolutely nothing

Unconscious, intangible, not there.

You exist in my mind,

Poetically speaking,

You live on through that funny anecdote

That recipe, that legacy, our memory.

You are my tragic backstory,

Therapeutically speaking,

The key to solving why I am the way I am

What you made me...

Being

He bows at her body, thankful and polite, acknowledges the service, plays the part.

She smiles at stories, smart enough to be cynical but hopeful enough to be happy.

He takes out a notepad and pretends not to watch for a reaction

As she reads his silver words

As she reads his mind through the blunt tool of his silver words.

He runs.

He thinks he’s wrong because she told h...

Battlegrounds of the Heart

And all at once

We revisted the site

Where the wounded lie

We examined their injuries

Doing our best to determine

If they were fatal

It requires a detached rationale

It laughs in the face of pure emotion

For life is smarter than you think

Forever your opponent

Even when pretending

To be a friend

For life brought me you

Star crossed

And ...

Poker With Lucifer

The darkness falls under my skin,
I hate my life and my soul within',
I'm trapped in my mind and I'm full of sin,
I'm fighting the devil and I cannot win,
Complacent thoughts are spinning around,
I hear His voice but there is no sound,
He showed me the way, the truth and the life,
The battle is won, I won the fight,
Come on devil your talk is cheap,
I've played my cards so read 'em and we...

What Does It All Mean?

Live life today,
Like there's no tomorrow,
So forget about the pain,
And embrace the sorrow,
Life is a struggle,
That we all go through,
Searching for deeper meaning,
And contemplating whats true,
Beauty and complexity,
A trip through the divine,
It can't be mere coincidence,
It was done by design,
At first we are taught this is it,
The material is all that's there,
Then what is my p...

entry picture

don't have to be sad
often the word was revealed softly
don't have to be disappointed
often the word is carried away
don't have to be upset
often the word said in a sigh
don't have to be worried
often the word is held back hoarse
don't have to get worse
often the word is stuck in sorrow
however
when the clouds hang
I was confined
when it comes heavy rain
I screamed too hard
when a s...

busses and trains.

I want to hop on a bus
At the closest stop
And trust me,
I know how boring it must seem
To ride aimlessly
In circles

But I have had a day
And I want nothing more
Than an aimless circle
As that's all
The days
And weeks
And years
And routines
And lives
Really are, anyway

I Should Of Thought About That Before I Got High

Needles and pipes are a way of life,
These temptations I have are hard to fight,
The rush I get is all too sweet,
Nodding out and drooling on my feet,
I snap out of it and want some more,
I fill up the rig its shot number four,
This cycle repeats until I run out,
I start to panic without a doubt,
What do I do? How do I get my fix,
Drugs and crime are not a good mix,
Whats with these thou...

Naked Souls

Poetry is a
refuge for
a lonely life

the antidote
for pain
and strife

warm words
blanketing
a frigid night

tonic for thirsty sailors
drowning in an ocean
from which we cannot drink

To our deserted island we go

while the world
casts us loners,
introverts, quiet
weird, crazy...

Let them judge
as they wine and dine
in crowded rooms
on cell patrol

while w...
