GAPS WHERE WORDS SHOULD BE

When he said there are no words

I knew he told the truth,

and love poured in to heal the wound

where words would try to help.

I know you can't describe a gap

in lives so badly rent,

but nothing's lost that's truly learned

and lessons taught when truly earned

to help by kind consent.

The height of obscurity

Looking down,

gazing from reclusion

Towered in the sky,

Seeing

painted to the horizon;

Pressed against the glass

Unaware of my touch

Upon the latch

Of the caress

I feel as loneliness

I wonder of life

How vacant am I.

To open that window

And let my life fly....

Ours was a tidal relationship,

It ebbed and flowed

Over hidden shipwrecks,

Sometimes calm,

Sometimes smashing defences,

Opening cuts on beaches

Then healing them

With the soothing sand

That fills each wound.

The depth of love

On the surface lies a smile,
A sparkle in one’s eye.
The feeling that in their company
Time just rushes by.

A little deeper and you’ll find
Butterflies a swarming
Concentration disappears
But thoughts of them are warming

Deeper still into one’s bones
A yearning and an ache,
A drug-like dependency
One simply can’t forsake.

THE REAL YOU

Look at you
Loving for the world
To be applauded and hailed
For gratitude, praise

Look at you
Intimidating so wrong
Ignoring the soil fertility
And planting the good seeds
Only where people can see

Look at you
Moving in the van of ‘I did this for her’
Crossing the road of ‘I was there for him’
Lounging in the valley of ‘people should know’

Look at you
Feeding the hungry

A deep gash slightly towards the left of my chest

As toxic beads stream down my face

Another sharp stab to my chest when I hear her sob
Pouring out is black ichor
Call me a demon for shattering her heart
But for our best, I greased our beats

A couple of broken people

It’s All Kicked Off.......

it’s all kicked off down at the zoo
absolute chaos, a proper to-do
when it all started, it was really quite small
when a boy in a pushchair just squeezed a ball
he didn’t mean to do it, it’s just it was there
all round and pink and covered in hair
they bobbed past him at just the right height
so he grabbed a handful and held them quite tight
he wiggled his fingers and gave them a tweak

Every night when I close my eyes, memories from a thousand years comes back alive and shadow becomes me.

Most times I can taste my soul; its not a picture of a happy ending, it's bittersweet.

I feel them every night as they come alive, ready to prey on the little sanity I have left, then I think of nothing but white walls and oceans, praying not to get lost in its calmness.

Oh you miss me now? Ain't that a shame.

Safe in a tower somewhere

a woman writes about anger

while on ground level a woman walking

Made to produce papers, abandoned

for three days in a cell, bedroll and blanket,

no chance of a phonecall either.

But egotism rolls around the tower

she paints it beautifully with blackened rage,

Definition of Beauty

I used to think sitting up high and looking at the city was the perfect release.

If I just stopped and watched the world, all of my pain would cease.

Its my perfect definition of beauty,

Blocking out the world and only focusing on me.

How was I to know that isolating myself would cause such pain,

Because I swear, if I knew, I wouldn’t have done it again.
