BLANK

My bum is sore

imagination no more

lacking

I try and try

but only can sigh

for no words fall on my paper

I sit and sit and twittle my thumbs

swaying my chair side to side

I use to be funny

and quick witted

words rolling off my tongue

dripping onto my page

This evening my mind is a blank

not sure who to thank

Home for the holidays

Homecoming over white hills, blue waters

Inhale cool fresh air, exhale slowly to remember the sensation

Warm embraces from family and friends

Wood stove heat warms me to core, comforting blanket

View of the ocean, littered with sea ice waiting to form

Fishing boats resting for long winter ahead

Visits with old friends, laughter over coffee and sweets

Forgive but don’t forget me

I don’t want to be a bad memory,

so here I am, saying sorry,

for the things I’ve done that could possibly have hurt you;

with everything I say or done,

I hope you forgive me

before the sun sets and

hope you’ll remember me

as a good memory when the sun rises.

Happy New Year

Now the end of December is here,

So I’ll toast you, my friends, with a beer,

Then I’ll scribble a rhyme,

While I have a good time,

And I’ll wish you a happy New Year.

Garden of Awareness

Let me invite you to the wonders

Of my Soul where you can rest

In the garden of Awareness

bringing fresh aroma to aliveness

I watching the day passing by

Drinking the cup of Joy

With two  spoons of happiness

I got some alleys of Peace

Where I like to spend some  time

And then flowers of the bliss

Mmmm they smell so beautiful

On the middle of my garden

A New Vision

A New Vision

A new vision for a new time, a new episode, a new year

for the future is full of uncertainty mingled with hope

We face it with a sense of expectancy

hopeful yet daunting in an immense complexity

Energy, wisdom with a strong sense of purpose

are required to embrace the unknown

To post as much poems as the monthly said days
It was going for broke, ambitious in a haze
Without fear I started for this execution

Some poems came quickly, some lingered in my head

Some were of fantasy, some were worth daily scrum

And of course they did both come from St Louis.
He expressed no view of Ezra Pound though.
Hadn’t really read him, he professed.

Earth's sword

Tattoo

I am covered in art.

Take a second to let that sink in

...

I am covered in the art of words.

They may be hidden on the skin that surrounds my body.

But they are there.

I know because I endured the pain it took to etch them across my skin.

They tell a story.

They have been created by a range of artists.

Which means that no style or font is the sam...

Ready for any commotion
When it looks like you can't cope
I'll be your saving rope

Lonnie's First Christmas Pudding

Okay,  listen up, y’all.

I spent Christmas in England,

And this is what I saw.

They got something called a Christmas Pudding

I don’t know why--it ain’t got no pudding in it at all.

It’s just a big fruity mess

Rotting in fat and alcohol.

First they take dried fruit, sugar, and peelings,

Mix it with some flour, spices, eggs, and brandy,

Add some stuff I can’t remember,

Unspoken

Awake in a world that is asleep,

Always in a constant fluctuation of chaos,

My spirit seeks balance and peace.

Solitude has become my friend,

For the crowd that is riding the wave has unconsciously become my enemy,

Negativity is toxic.

My energy is prescious,

I must protect it,

Cherish it,

Everyone is not worthy.

Battlefield of love

Emotional fortress built with broken stones,
Battle ram rushing a chill down my bones.
Forecast rain and mist,
Cutting down my sight,
Loud cries followed by their echoes,
On this battlefield of love.
Throwing spears and arrows,
Shaped as yelled sentences,
Directed at my heart,
Even the quiet whispers are able to do their part.

As the gates came crushing,
You just stood still.

Self-defence, class

Shaking when I walked into his shop,

Thoughts of the beautiful, white Crescent Moon

Lost  in the ebony sky of late November.

Fled like winter sleet melted,

The glint of the knife on that coal black night

The one in the hoodie, with no facial tattoo,

Lunged forward screaming into thin air:

“Put the fucking money in there!”

So what'd he get? In the blink of an eye?

THE RAIN

Each day comes and goes, the calendar never lies

On each month it appears, but with a red signal

The moon seems dull, never has it been bright

Nimbus clouds on the sky

The rain is heavy, quite unbearable to be precise

Seems like a tornado, the storm is drowning me

The earthquakes are intense too, what a sleepless night

The inner clouds are slowly shedding off

Last Chance

Last Chance

I took a Fiat Volvo back to 1606.

Raining. Dark.

Shakespeare was coming out the Globe,

full of himself, tragic, a whore on his arm.

‘Get in!’ I shouted.  He ignored me.

‘Right,’ I said; ‘Last chance.’

But the girl he was with gave me the V sign,

carried him off into the shadows.

There's revelation in seeing who our pain belongs too.

It's a gift when you've seen how to let it go

Cage

Been turning myself to blue and green,

Trapping and locking myself in this fucking cage

Again

And I can't, I cannot, I will not

Let you in here.

Nothing more can rely on me.

And i will spend my days putting stoicism and serenity on pedestals,

And I will be hopeless and choked

And my heart will be lurching

And it passed right by me,

But I realise now that no hand is so...

The Pylon And The Scarf

A silk scarf of crimson elevates
Levitates
Like a sky-bound alien manta ray
The deep glowing slate heavens shimmer
Casting the pylon a mysterious aura of golden silver
And reflects a light so fierce
A totem of shining mirror..

The darkest cream grey sky
Whisked and liquefied
All passive-aggressive
Blasts down still-life breaths
Pummelling the mustard grass
Like bleached wig hair
suc...

Me, the little bulb, feels globally connected

Here we are again, entering the season of lights that illuminates the darkness in our lives.

Here I am that one bulb, connected to a strand that’s part of a flickering network worldwide.

Come, please join me in activating the healing  process that the divine is sending us.

Because we’ve had far too many dark days and stormy nights recently.

Personal, political and social storms. Storms...

A Child is not just for Christmas

Prophets in disguise

Search the skies, oh so wise,

Tears, like atoms, don’t decay

Love, like photons, light the way.

A babe against a warmy chest

Dreamt of nets filled with fish

Whilst flight across sand and seas

Brought the donkey to his knees.

All mixed up in snow and ice,

Discarded plastics choke Christmas mice;

We, fat as turkeys, but leaflet thin,

Hear churche...

Fire and Ice

I am ice, yet there is fire in my veins.

It burns, desperately hoping for release.

But it cannot be released, like one cannot release a dragon on a town, or murderer in a capital.

It hurts without regard, without remorse, so I cannot set it free, but instead choke it down.

Sufficating.

Drowning.

Drowning in potential actions, potential consequences.

Yet each word said only fee...

The endless journey

Leaves kick along the concrete path

Savaged by wind and feet

On a cat soaked morning

With boys on bikes

Underpass hanging

Looking everywhere and at nobody

Their eyes say guilty

I’m part of the gang

Yeah so what

Leave me alone

I’ve done nothing wrong

Cars nose round the roundabout

Tail lights redden

Resigned impatience

Horns and brakes castrating

Any ch...

Yet here I am

Yet here I am,

I have not lost the light,

but like water behind a dam,

I stagnate, facilitate my plight.

The birds know the seasons,

“What a mystery!” from inside my glass box.

Consider the cave and other reasons,

the hardest is finding the locks.

The key I’ve always had,

It’s the questions that require the courage.

Run and hide it's only natural,

Find co...

Christmas Is Back In town

I am lost for words and don’t know what to say

The festive season is well and truly on the way

The countdown has begun on a crisp November day

In the distance I can hear the yuletide bells ringing

The run up seems to start earlier year upon year

You will spend lots of time and money never fear

On friends and family and those you hold dear

Live it up for today and forget about ...
