Story of my month (30)

As I write this poem, the final of the month
Reading back at venture and discovering self
Knowing the blended life that is shown on the shelf
Little telling stories about my living front

Being sexual being, and being prideful mom
A hard working lady to a caring partner
All facets that displays my fragile ground marker
Towards a smiling face from hectic to the calm

I hope you enjoyed ri...

Month story

LAST JOBS IN THE GARDEN

a low sun teased me out

from a pool of shadow

searching for signs of new life

even as the soil plotted against it

overhead a plane like a silver pen

wrote a lazy trail

scattering high hopes

dead leaves in disorderly fashion

a classroom of empty heads

awaited my rough comb

and a crisp goodbye.

Nov 30th

For 20 years I cried on this day

I checked out on this day

I hated this day

I mourned on this day

A little girl kept quite about this day

A little girl felt ashamed on this day

A little girl that was drowning in her own blood on this day

A little girl had to pick herself up so her little brothers wouldn't see

A little girl no more

Dug up holes to bury it

This ...

Remember and Respect

Respect is little to ask for
To remember is to respect
To respect is to remember
Those who paid an ultimate debt

When generations come together
To acknowledge not to mourn
It gives out a special feeling
That’s calm sincere and warm

Hats off to those who turn out
In rain or wind or snow
In aid of those who cared so much
They joined up and decided to go

They went to different place...

The Traffic Memorial

A bronze Teddy bear rests at its base.
A little child's doll looks forlorn in face.
Sitting in all weathers, patiently to wait.
A doll who's missing her little playmate.

I see a victims discarded walking cane.
Another life lost, another buried name.
2 fingers on a wrist watch frozen in time.
A set of keys lie beside this 'traffic sign'

A pair of glasses, smashed on contact.
A lonely c...

Snob!
That's what my parents always called me with a smirk
But I wasn't
I was just different

The highlight of my week wasn't watching Knight Rider like the other boys
It was Wonder Woman
Imagining myself wearing her gold tiara and bracelets
Her lasso of truth
Spinning round and saving the world
Then going back to being normal Diana Prince

My older brother bought me Action Man

The joy that springs as dormant world revives,

Renewing all that winter’s sleep had lost.

The vivid green that sprouts and quickly thrives,

When freed from chilling chains of snow and frost.

In spate, to swell the rivers to the seas;

They pass, and feed the flowers that emerge,

The Glowering Mists of Autumn

As I travel life's journey I'm often-times struck

By a vision both novel and possibly true; that serenity

In a dangerous world without luck,

Is impossible; but is there a temporal divinity?

Perhaps the root causes of wonder and joy

Really are in the sky, or on Dante's fine peak,

Or my fireside, where the dance won't annoy

My Muse Is Dead

Beige walls stand empty where original artworks once hung
A woman, beyond her years in mind and body, sits at her desk
Staring at a screen that, despite vast knowledge at her fingertips

Ridiculed by those she trusted
"Over medicated"
No more pills
No more gange
Nothing to help control the demons within her mind

Letters with Words

Sky gets brighter

Black dog appears

Calling my name

Whispering as he nears

Words softened, falling

One by one, letters

Clinched, left broken

Fragments and pieces

Captured and glued

A story is breaking

Two sides reconciling

Well yours, my love, all but take my breath away.

Their dream:

All candles and sea hair

In Carmel-by-the-Sea,

Where crisp breezes flow

Through wispy ocean trees;

Where they lie in tequila sunrises

Finding each other in daydreams

Of tangled cotton sheets and hair.

In a web of silk and satin sand,

Na fairsinge leathan seo; Siúilim feadh an aill:

Fágann an duine ar thaobh na gaoithe,

Trilobites leabaithe, faoi bhun mo chosa

Grianchloch agus Muscovite ón eibhir

Na gaoithe agus na dtonnta a thug an t-am

Fóicphointí farraige, carraigeacha i bhfolach, phluai...

My Muse

The chaos in my mind
is killing me,
my life, a bad trip
on LSD
a rush to the brain,
serotonin, dopamine
all at once shining
blue light
a mind so open,
a heart so full,
peace,
such peace,
the sweetest sleep.

Memories are mirages,
I cannot reach.

A sinking feeling,
a dread inside around I go,
again and again,
down the rabbit hole,
just once more,
one last time
looking for a ...

Cancer

The way I love you is Cancer.

And not in the romantic way, but in the deadly way. The way one single cell multiplies and corrupts it's neighboring cells. The way you seem to stay even when the doctors cut you out. It's scary how even when I think I'm cured, all it takes is a single thought and I'm falling in love all over again. I keep going back to that one single cell. I'm not saying your lo...

Objectify Me

i just think it is funny that

my body cannot be viewed

by a man

without him making a comment

i just think it is funny that

i have to cross the street

to avoid his words in my ear

i just think it is funny that

 he cannot look at

my hair

 my legs

my body

without sucking air through his teeth

and viewing me

only as the object

he believes i a...

After I Was Gone

What else could I do?

Nobody cared anyway.

I tried to speak up,

I tried to tell my story.

The thing is,

Nobody wanted to hear it

Until I wasn't there to tell it.

They'll wonder why I didn't tell anyone,

Why I didn't get help.

I tried to, but they didn't listen.

They were sorry.

They felt bad,

And they realize that they saw the signs.

They saw them,

But the...

Visiting

means bringing something with me

warbler, brown, yellow back

in his winter range, would have fit in my hand

if I sat with my palm open

for how many hours or days

so of course I brought a cat

who kept nearly drowning - I would fish him out

from the ditch next to a field we favorited

with a heart.  He wanted to pounce

but every move was wet, and no place

was solid en...

Sympathies for the Preacher

I see that depraved preacher man

Spewing at me variations of hate

For knowing variations of love,

Male, Female,

Romantic, Lustful.

In the shallowness of skin deep I have learned self-love.

I have found beauty in my body

Where I once could only envision the brokenness

A gaping hole where my heart was.

For so many years I had to reject what I felt

Kept pulling chunks of...

Expansion

Expansion

And in the end it is as simple and as complicated as an out breath

all that weighed her down and kept her small clears like mist as her head rises, antlers held aloft, crowning glory, and her wings unfold gracefully, easily as she stands, she stands, she stands and speaks

And it never before was the right time

Would you ask a prisoner of war why he didn’t just leav...

Nota Mortum

The sky sparkles bright

Lit by the colours of the fireworks

A beautiful moment. Gentle, and present.

My music plays while I lay in bed, this writing going correct.. Why is now not the perfect time?!

So I apologise in advance, I loved every single one of you, maybe a bit too much, and that stopped me at times but unfortunately that was not enough.. believe me it's much harder for me...

being happy

I always see all these couples and I ask myself are the really happy ? Are they really in love ?

Will i ever experenice love and happiness like that ? Will I ever be happy like them ?

I know a realtionship and love is not something you can rush , but I always ask myself when will I get to be in love and be happy.

Will I always be this unhappy and not loved ? Like what do I have to change ...

I wish.. But

I wish

I wish if i could swirl the time to past,
and delete all the shoddy reminiscence,
Omitting all the rendezvous which hurt later.
Ah I wish and can just wish,
Because I neither have Genie nor Aladdin's lamp.

If only I could turn back time,
immaculate the errs of the past,
which tormented me over the years.
Subtracting all the time when I just daydreamed,
and added the void ...

The Demolition Man

Will the demolition man know

what lies within these age-old walls,

five-shilling a yard foundations

evolved from historic battlefields.

Will he taste if it is blood

bone, heart or skin

hiding within empty wards, waiting

to succumb to the unknown.

As the echo of his steel toe boots
reverberates through corridors
and daylight cracks the dome,
will he catch his own ref...

Borderline personality disorder: the splitting

The darkness within comes from my twin pulls apart the good and let's my emotions win, a diagnosed Gemini, going through phases of tears and bright eyes, there's no medication for borderline, with lots of love and self doubt, tempted to break things and shout but some days are for the better while others I can't pull myself together, a case that just won't close, oh how this just comes and goes, I...

Stand Amongst Mountains

Stand amongst mountains where the wind is in song

Close to the heavens where we all belong.

Stand amongst mountains where the air’s always fine

Close to the streams that taste like wine.

Stand amongst mountains mighty and pure

Solid and firm reaching high into azure.

Stand amongst mountains where day is first to break

Close to the bastions which day is last to f...

A Dog Named Doolan

On a far flung new world continent

From the vast expansive land down under

Home to hardy folk sheep and kangaroos

Australia to be precise is it any wonder

In the wilds of the harsh barren outback

Lives and roams a breed of dog called Kelpie

An energetic intelligent hard working sheep dog

Why am I telling you this story so help me

One of its brothers arrived on the shores of...

WHERE ARE YOU

I lay in my back garden

I looked up to the sky

I was looking for my loved one's

With teardrops in my eye

I wonder where they've gone to

Or why they had to leave

Do they live on somewhere else

Oh what should I believe

I saw some faces in the moon

I don't know who they were

I couldn't clearly make them out

They were a little blur

When I die I want to know

Will...

the pain

Sometimes stopping to think about you being gone brings too much pain.

The pain that I pray someday will finally go away.

Today is just like yesterday,

I still miss you more

and the pain will not go away.

What do you think of this Poem

We, We are the creation of the universe, Being such that our hatred of others consumes us, Our humanity so sunken in the lies we tell our selves humanity itself so distant, so emotional ,But the humanity within us being self-absorbed who is it to say that we are as that we say that the who can control themselves such that they are no longer self-centered, I can not, you can, not no one can!

Interview with myself on my poetical journey with poems included

Affinity with words has been part of me since trying to decipher little card cut words given by a teacher, but my journey into poetry began in 2002 when something changed the course of my life as surely as a strong tiller on a lightweight boat, or piece of drift wood caught in a strong current.
Before that I was as a sycamore seed spiralling every which way in winds. What happened caused my ship ...

Too Familiar

Today I woke with the all too familiar feelings again. Those never changing Feelings , except perhaps always only in depth. The Familiarity , like the type of stranger you've known all your life, rattles me every time .Each time it happens I feel something stirring deep inside me, a shift at the depths of my core. The slightest of movements almost like a wisp of air it silently flutters ,briefly ,...

Marshall

Days are ordinary

This town has no feelings

The pavement leads to him

But he's no where to be found

He's caught underground

The breeze of fall follows me

The air's not so clear anymore

He should have slept more

He should have lived more

I should have thought more

About time to kill

About the love to be sought

I'm falling apart

I missed that kiss...

Worthless Women

In our sophisticated societies

even today

there are men

who 'breed' sons as a re-issue of themselves

for inheritance of power;

and daughters as bargaining chips

for the extension of power

by amalgamation of resources.

Children whose worth is solely dependent

upon their value in 'the Tribal Game'.

Through ignorance or denial

the value of a woman

lies in the male'...
