En skrekk - halloween story

I am on call today, I hate being on call. I can’t settle into anything, I like to be up early for a little breakfast by the window with a book I read for 1 minute and my phone that I spend 59 minutes on. I took this maintenance job five months ago because the perks included this apartment. I figured it would be a good gig, fixing things and living nearby. It’s been total chaos ever since, I live w...

A MINER'S RETURN HOME

A miner walked from Wheal Kitty

to Trevellas at the end of a day

and the path he took was atop the cliff

for that was his easiest way.

The moon rode high oe'r the breakers

as the path did twist and turn

and the Gods of the deep were lurking there

with nothing new to learn.

Fourteen hours at fifty fathoms

had taken the breath from him

and the night was quiet ...

A sudden burst of unbridled energy

All we share opens my heart...

Mister Eternity

Arthur Stace, a First World War veteran and illiterate alcoholic, was known as “Mister Eternity” . For 35 years he inscribed the cryptic precept “Eternity” in yellow, waterproof chalk, using an inexplicable copperplate hand, on pavements throughout Sydney. Asked why, he would merely reply “Makes 'em think”. Arthur's dictum was sent around the world, emblazoned in huge letters across Sydney Harbour...

It’s amazing how you can look into someone’s eye’s and see a universe.

A universe with planets and stars placed against the dark

A universe where life breathes through every orifice

And the lights of consciousness ignite and pull forward gravity

The Angel

It was the music that he had heard first followed by all the angry madness, the garish badness, a badness in which she delighted. She was all dressed up nines and tens, her eyes flashing green over her overly played garish makeup that had frightened her youth away. The tinny tinkle of her rings and things, singing and pinging their market stall magic into the damp dirty air as they cut sharps and ...

lit by our lust
not going anywhere

What I Never Told My Students About Descartes

When teaching Descartes, I dutifully described his dualism in detail.

I discussed his importance as the father of modernism,

But also his common ground with scholasticism.

Together we examined the ways he attempted to prove God

And the reliability of both mathematics and his own senses.

Also, some biographical information including his early education,

Military service, tra...

I am made of flesh, bones, nerves, muscle, blood, cells, hairs

Vanishing Souls

Vanishing souls

are not made of gold

Or sparkling things.

Tarnished and cold

Is what we are told

And we try and hide our feelings

The price is not high for those who wish to fly.

But it's not the height we're afraid of-

But the fall that will lead,

To destruction and chaos of everything we believe

Stories get told of vanishing souls

That disappear ...

Flower of love
Dalan Jahan

There are eyes in the eyes,
Look deeper
The temporal atmosphere,
Obesity is a strong green shade,
Where the sun is a nectar,
The Heavenly Temporal Heaven.

Eager birds to listen to music,
Tears fall in tears,
Loads of breath,
Earth's weight is glazed
Draw flowers to love in the calendar.

The wind tends to favor the flow,

The Moon is a Thing

The beauty of the moon's lovely light

Pours equally

Upon king or slave, castle or cave.

It suffers not the moral skeins

The moon is a thing.

And this amazing thing

Has fired human imagination

To evolve esoteric meaning

Testimony: An elegiac poetry account on Battle of Karbala

By: Mirza Sharafat Hussain Beigh

1
My sight caught few papers scattered
On the shelf, sunk in time.
I wiped dust cautiously from papers,
So words could remain intact.
Yet, soul energetic and each word
Sustaining therein, though condoling.
And a number of couplets
Each on paper finding reciter.
I pushed the window to let air in
And perched on old window frame‟s sill, wide and thick...

Birds in their time

Snatched by roaring winds

To dream of whatever is there

In the shadow is a haunted face

As another lies awake waiting now

Water, rising, frogs, fish, fins, brushing

The legs as they passed by

The hazy days of summer

And all that racket

From next door

Wish I could sleep!

To sleep is to dream

Some happy others sad
Twisting these balloons
As I look into the rooms
Of a past long gone

I can feel it crawl inside me creeping slowly

Those negative thoughts that want to control me
