Smudged and covered in fingerprints.

Reflective of poor character development,

Etched with the words I should've said. 

Moments faded and emotions were slow to surface

I purchased a subscription to my own suffering.

Question marks where periods should be.

“Fuck yous” went undelivered

“I need help” sounded like failure

“I love you” was too ...

sly predators

could have delivered

the fatal bite

that caused parents

and children

to weep blister

burn and die

a black man

with skin of grey

and eyes bloodshot
