Chatting With Ari

Saturday 5th January 2013 5:20 pm (first posted Thursday 12th April 2012 4:57 pm)

Pity is the depth

we feel when bad things happen

to other good folk

Fear we deeply feel

knowing bad things can happen

to good folk like us

Sympathy is the

bonding of pity and fear –

There – but for gods’ grace –

Catharsis is a

beneficial expulsion

from mind … or bowel.

“Have I got it right, mate?”

All credit to Aristotle for the wisdom; but the haiku is mine.

Beautiful. I love the wit and wisdom of the words. xx

Interesting! Ari puts me in mind of Ari Up.

I really like that last line actually...works well against the mix-up of 'there but for the grace of god' phrase. The structure appears to be original and the bonding of pity/fear in the last verse works well.

I really like this little piece Cynthia, its brevity is almost skeletal but conveys a lot.
Not sure about the last line. It both seems and looks out of context to me.
Best regards,

Graham
