Footsteps

Thursday 10th July 2008 3:02 pm

Footsteps on the veranda

Footsteps on the pavement

Footsteps to the end of the road

Walking towards your dream

you couldn't let go

Your fairytale dreams

follow them with your feet

Searching through unmarked boxes

In painted scenes

for your diamond dreams

Footsteps through the courtyard

Footsteps down the marble stairs

will you wait for me there?

Tell me if your going to leave

Send me a perfume scented postcard

with pictures of your dreams

Follow in your footsteps

walk with your alter ego

where does it go?

Write me if you go

Do you have far to go?

Footsteps to your boarding plane

the crowds don't know your name

a final kiss on the lips

settle in your seat

my sweet

Enjoy the airline treats

Footsteps on the foreign terrain

Do you expect to return again

I'll walk where your footsteps have been

imprinted on painted scenes

Where have your footsteps been?

Hi Richard an interseting concept and a lovely (but sad) poem that leaves an air of mystery at the end, great stuff Jeff

Hello, Richard

Your poem shows many pictures not just one. I have picture your Footsteps in each stanza. So many of those in life; Can you imagine our feet walking each day how many steps we would print if one to add the prints from the entire life span. Very creative thought provoking write; enjoyed reading.

PS: Thank you for your comment and concern when I was absent from this site.

Thank you,
Zuzanna
