Pandora`s Legacy

Created by the Gods

Pandora left her mark

On the world, by  un-leasing
The terrors that befall
All of mankind.

Moulded from clay
Taught how to behave
In deceitful ways.
Then  sent to live on earth
With a box she was
Forbidden to open.

She angered Zeus,
When her curiosity aroused
She lifted the lid
On his box of gifts,
And released
All manner of ills
On the human race.

But he had placed Hope in the box.
Hope was the light
That all would see
Could rescue many
And set them free.

Anthony, Zeus was so devious,he knew just what would happen. After all he masterminded the plot.LOL

Hi Val,

Sounds like Zeus had a pretty good idea when he gave a woman a mystery box - and told her not to open it! I'll bet it was shaped like a shoebox too! Like giving a bloke a copy of The Sun and telling him not to look at page three! We are soooo predictable . . .

Best regards,
A.E.

Very true to the myth Val - unusually so - it is good to have someone keep us grounded - as Cynthia says.
Did you take that photo - it doesn't look like a google pic - I'm so loving the variety of ideas!

This myth influenced my dreams when I was a child, not pleasantly; I didn't believe in Hope. I also like this straightforward retelling to keep us focussed.

I like this, it is one of the more traditional takes on the theme, and refreshing in presentation.
