Biography
I am a self taught poet from Heywood Lancashire, and I have started writing children's short stories too. I have been writing since I was 12 years old and even though I have struggled with dyslexia it hasn't put me off writing.
I have read out my work at Rochdale Wheatsheaf Center for "The Weave a Yarn of Rochdale" Competition 2006, of which the theme was "Water", I came runner up. I have also read at the Wheatsheaf Center for the exbition on "Hair". I have read at various groups including Hebden Bridges White Lion and Middleton's The Old Boars Head. Also I attend a group run by Cartwheel Arts at Darnhill Librabry once a month.
I have been published in the international library of poetry The Star Laden Sky and recieved the "editors choice award" and also in the North West Focus and Scribble, a magazine created by Cartwheel. Also I have had a poem published in the book Home Thoughts and I have won a Write Out Loud spooky poem competition at The Old Boars Head in Middleton.
I am not well published yet but have a great love for writing and hearing others work. At the moment I am spreading my wings and exploring the poetry world.

Lost in the Beat
As I walk down the street
To the steady beat
With my MP3
The music in my head
I can hear the rymthem of my footsteps drum
My lips pressed together
As I quietly hum
The song in my mind
Is rockin and alive
Looking like I'm just walking
When really I jive
Not singing a word
But I'm belting it out
Not doin the moves
But I'm in the groove
My heartbeats following that steady beat
My hips are swaying
From the swinging beat
So as I walk down the street
I'm lost in the music of my MP3
Take
Take time on your journey
Discover new beginings
Take adventure on your journey
Break free of fear
Take curiousity on your journey
Uncover hidden paths
Take respect on your journey
For lands and cultures you pass
Take energy on your journey
So you can reach the greatest peaks
Take sight on your journey
Then you can see what lies beneath
Take thought on your journey
Remember, share and feel
Take love on your journey
From the one's who'll miss you near
Take in everyting on your journey
Chisle memories to cherish for all your years
Man Was Here
Stepping from stone to stone
Footprints mark where feet once stepped
A shadowed memory remains
When eyes met nature
Man was here
Roots torn from earth
Machines dug and pulled
Left barren and killed
Where trees stood tall
Created fresh air for all
Man was here
Red bricks lay
To build the new
The uniqui and fashionable
Linning pockets
Bringing wealth to wealth
Rewarding their self
Man was here
A small square remains
Perfectly cut and flat
Nature by design
With straight lines
Is all that remains
To show what once was there
Man is here
