Biography
Hi there everyone,
I started writing poetry a couple of years ago to get me through some bad times. I just picked up a pen and put the words down on paper, and since then I haven't stopped. I get pleasure from seeing what comes from my thoughts and transpires down on the page.
To date I have been lucky to have had three of my poems published, one of which has been published in America, to say I had a smile on my face is an understatement :)

Taking in the sights and sounds
Yet my eyes they trace the ground
Although i smile for all to see
They do not sense the depth in me
I show the world an outside strength
Inside i cry - who am i ?
Living this life on my own
I do not care for being alone
I want to look in anothers eyes
And share with him my smile
Feel arms around me holding me close
Someone to want me for who i am
It's not some vast plan
I'd like to hold a man
Who will bring forth a smile
That reaches into my eyes ....

This is a great poem, Jennie.
It somehow seems really apt for this time of the year - a time when we all feel the need to be loved.
The rhyming lines are good...
sounds/ ground
see/ me
own/ alone
plan/ man
But the other lines are the hub of the poem:
I show the world an outside strength
Inside i cry - who am i ?
I want to look in another's eyes
And share with him my smile
Feel arms around me holding me close
Someone to want me for who i am
Who will bring forth a smile
That reaches into my eyes ....
Excellent.
