The Angel Of The North West
Her arms and legs are all fake tanned
but her arse is pale,
she only tans the bits
she intends to show off
for a modern day love tale,
and yet her northern sarcasms still
ripping the piss right out of me,
on the way home
to the angel of the north west.
Loving is such a lovely flirt
and then I show her the moonwalk,
she retorts with an unforgiving North West Wit,
and something that was already small
is starting to shrink,
on the way home
to the angel of the north west.
If all her mates tell her I’m proper fit
she’s more inclined to text me later tonight
except
all her mates think I’m proper minging
so I’m singing to a Salford streetlight
Ever so kindly all my mates will inform
all her mates are obviously
northern slappers,
but I’ll be doing my washing up and
wishing
she was drying up,
then together we could put
the dishes away.
I get so knackered
and feel there is no romance,
to be alone in this world,
I need to be snuggled up
with my mancunian girl.
All their bellies
all spilling out
all up over their top shop crop tops,
she tells all her mates ‘I’m out just for a laugh’
but they all know she’s after trapping off.
On Saturday morning she texts me her number
and with that I quite fancy you,
well I start jumping around the room
dancing all on my own in a 1980s disco.
She brings in her big bar of dairy milk,
she snuggles up to me on the sofa,
home at last to the angel
of the north
west.
The Ecstacy
because we all fell
into this world screaming
our hearts out
emerging from the unlimited consciousness
to feel the pain in every single being
trying to move
backwards
towards creation
towards the manifestation
towards the molecule
the atom
the electron
the subatomic particle
and then the source
I was pure
I was formless
I was mesmorising
supersonic
spectacular
molecular
infinate
energy
unlimited
unbounded
and vibrating so fast
defying all measurement and observation
I was the image
the emotion
the desire
energy reflecting energy
reflecting energy back into itself
a million times
stronger
faster
harder
attracting
a higher frequency
moving faster than light and sound and
they expected too much of me
I became a being
beautiful energy slowed down
to such a degree that
I have taken solid form
a definition in time and space
there are certain boundaries
everything is connected to everything else
I am a form
completely formulated
a strand of DNA
a ridiculous fear
projecting into a world what I see inside
patterns in human behaviour
already absorbing their habits and traits
hardwired into the nucleus of
every single cell
I am rushing off excitement as it builds
up inside
ingraining inclinations
fixations
frames of mind
always moving
everything of this world
constantly connecting
relating
pulsating
intwining itself in orgasm
then propelling us all into
the great unknown
further and further away from
where we emerged
out of nothingness
no boundaries
no form
no flesh
no deterioration
no beginning
no ending
no wasting away
everything all at once
all of it
here
and
now
but nothing happens until
something moves
we didnt fall into this world to watch television
make money buy furniture
have an argument
We.
Were.
Fucking.
Launched.
into an existence in a microscopic dot
of cellular tissue
I am paralysed I am passaionate I am lost I am damaged I am devoted I am hurting I am suffering I am scared I am dominant I am devastated I am invincible I am burning I am bruised I am brutal
and every mistake that I make is perfection
on this big fuck off rock
I have just increased the frequency
now we are all
waiting
waiting
waiting

Angel of the North West, cracking poem. Disappointed there's no reference to the 'Manchester smile' though. Keep on keepin' on.
John
sadly not - there's some of my old band's stuff on Myspace. I've since gone solo and have made some recordings but i'm buggered if i know how to upload the tracks!
Being from the NW, Manchester in fact, your observations are scarily accurate!........I'm off to cover up my belly!
Hi Jack. i really enjoyed the pace of 'The ecstacy' - well thought out and makes for a very passionate read x
Hi Jack,
And welcome. I really enjoyed your "The Angel Of The North West." Took me back years - and we've all been there! Some very creative and atmospheric lines in there, e.g: "singing to a Salford streetlight", "wishing she was drying up,
then together we could put the dishes away."
Cracking lines - more please!
Regards,
A.E.

The Angel Of The North West is brilliant Jack - I loved discovering and reading this one! I'm sure her mates don't really think you're proper minging though ;-)
